It’s early in the morning. Coffee has finished brewing, and you are ready for the first sip; your wakeup call. The journey of your morning coffee is all about enjoying that moment in life, that one moment that you experience every day. At least, that’s the idea behind Written Coffee. Some of our best stories, ideas, and passions are shared, sparked, and realized over a good cup of coffee.

Written Coffee: Celebrating Life Over Coffee

The meeting of friends

I am such a storyteller, and I couldn’t begin to talk about Written Coffee without first talking about the amazing person behind the coffee. Ellie and I ‘met’ through Instagram. I chatted her up because I was so excited to have found another female who was also blogging about coffee! She is the creator behind City Brewed, to which I was also a guest of last month. We hit it off via email, and she eventually divulged to me that she was started a coffee business.

Fast forward a few months, and Written Coffee is here! Seeing her excitement and passion behind coffee is something else, and Written Coffee is a carefully crafted reflection of that. I knew from the get go that I wanted to be there supporting her efforts, because us female entrepreneurs need all the support we can get right now. So a huge thank you to Ellie for inspiring me and creating some delicious coffee with a real experience!

Written Coffee

When I first saw Written Coffee, I was blown away by the design and thoughtful storytelling. Written Coffee takes you through a journey of chapters. All the coffee is made in limited batches, and Chapter One is already available to take home, grind, and drink.

I ground the coffee beans in my kitchen one night and the entire house smelled like a coffee shop. The smells and flavors are gorgeous. Chapter One features a “smooth caramel, brown sugar, dark chocolate, and vanilla taste profile,” as stated on the packaging. My favorite part are the strong caramel flavors, and the light acidity level. If you don’t prefer those super acidic coffees, and you’re looking for something classic, nostalgic, and smooth, then you will adore this chapter.

Of course, I cannot in good conscious leave you hanging in the taste department, and neither can Ellie. So we have teamed up to offer one person a free Chapter One coffee experience! We’ll supply you with the bean, and then it’s up to you to choose your own experience. I’d say Chapter One is best enjoyed over a good philosophy book, or a late start into the office on a Friday. In case you’re in need of any ideas!

Enter below, and good luck! The winner will be announced and contacted through Instagram (don’t forget to provide your handle). Entries are open until February 28th, 2018.

  1. It really is something special to have brands that are started/run by people who are truly passionate and excited about what they do. As a consumer, I think you really can tell the difference. Also, I just love the coffee packaging! It’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing this, Emily!

    1. It’s not, unfortunately. Since it’s a new company and she hasn’t quite worked out the international shipping part yet! But I’ll be sure to let you know if it changes. 🙂

  2. Aw that’s such a great story of how you two met, and it’s one of the things I love about blogging and social media – how it brings like minded people (or in the words of Anne of Green Gables, kindred spirits) together!

  4. This is AWESOME. A couple years ago, Ben and I created an organic, fresh made baby food business that we sold at farmers markets! So we know firsthand the blood sweat and TEARS behind a venture like this. SO much applause to your friend Ellie for chasing and ACHIEVING her dreams. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. I’m checking it out now because I LOVE supporting small business with heart like this!
