As we roll in to August, I am happy to report that this month hasn’t gotten away from me too terribly bad yet. In my last Quick Edit I had talked about how July just seemed to zoom away! This month I have definitely been on top of things.

Let’s get started with some Instpiration! Photos I am loving from Instagram this week:

Last weekend I had a wonderful but short trip to San Francisco (my second home by now). I was really just happy to get out of the heat and enjoy some time with my parents. I was able to hit up two coffee shops and I drank about four coffees in one day. Not a record though. I published the first one of my reviews on Tuesday!

Before I left I went on a nice Sephora binge and bought not nearly enough products for the total cost of my purchase. And no, you don’t want to know. I was so excited to pick up this Sunday Riley UFO dry oil. I’ve truly never seen anything like it. Right now I am testing it out and have been using it for about a week and a half. I will definitely keep you guys updated! But as I told a few other bloggers, this is, in my opinion, BEAUTY PRODUCT OF THE YEAR. I haven’t fully gone the three weeks I’d like to yet for testing, but that claim speaks volumes to how it works after a week. Literally so happy with this!

I still want to get to writing about my first travel experience, but haven’t felt the inspiration for that one yet. Maybe inspiration isn’t the right word. I guess I just haven’t felt that ‘all-nighter words pouring from my fingers’ feeling yet. It will surly be one of those, and I will know when it comes…

I also have a confession for you guys. I don’t think I’ve read a book front to back in about three years. Yes, I am totally ashamed of that and it’s so hard for me to admit. However, I am so happy to report that I finished my first book last weekend! The book is called The Sound of Gravel. I had the book for about four months but I actually read it in about four days that were largely spaced apart, and I was able to finish it on the plane. I don’t know why, but this gave me so much joy and accomplishment. I already have my next one picked out. I still don’t get how it’s been this long!!?? Gah! Has this happened to anyone else?

As far as future travel dates, thinking about LA in September! Leave me a comment below and let me know if you want me to do a review on the Sunday Riley UFO. I was also thinking of picking up Martian (matching toner). Would you want a review on that one too? Have a great weekend all!

  1. Loving these pictures, great inspiration! I think your blog is great and you seem so lovely also, let me know if you would like to follow each other and keep in contact! x

  2. Yes, yes, and YES please to review on UFO. Frankly I don’t need more skincare as I am bleeding skincare out of every orifice on my body but I can’t stop. Helppp, I need skincare rehab. My latest purchases were REN Global Protection Day Cream, Dermalogica Pre-Cleanse and Micro Exfoliants.

    1. I will do any review for you Shireen! You are the skin care qweeeen after all. 😉 I really want to try that Dermalogica pre-cleanse, let us know how it goes!

Hope you had a great weekend!

  3. The book thing happened to me before too so I wouldn’t feel too bad. It’s hard to admit but I think more people can relate to that than would like to admit it. LA in September sounds nice! I’m on vacay now and I’m thinking about where to go next!

    1. Definitely hard to admit because I always thought of myself as a reader. I’m sure this does happens to lots of people, and thank you for sharing it’s happened to you too! 🙂

Hope you are enjoying your vacation! I am always thinking about my next trip while on vacation. That’s when you know you have a problem. Or maybe that you’re just awesome. Woot!

  5. I can’t say I’m on the same page with you… August has definitely gotten away from me I can’t even believe we’re midway through the month already! You don’t need to be ashamed about not reading lately.. I think I haven’t read a book front to back even longer than you! I hope to take at least one on my upcoming vacation but who knows how much reading I’ll actually accomplish!

    1. I really can’t believe it’s already the middle of August, it’s so crazy! I always take books on vacation with the plan of actually reading them. NEVER HAPPENS. Haha.

  6. I totally know what you mean about the reading! I always find it so much easier to unwind and devour a book while on holiday. I am definitely known for starting a finishing my books in the last few days of my vacation!

    1. Yes! I find it easy to read on the plane. But I have to admit when I’m at home I get too distracted by the TV and my favorite shows… *sigh*
