We are officially in to November and I am busier than ever. Let the holiday madness begin! Between a full time job, blogging, holiday shopping, decorating, planning, and birthdays (whew, I think I got them all), I am going to be one busy bee the next few months. Every year I just completely take the end of the year off, which is typically the entire week after Christmas and New Years. This year I am looking at some nice time off from December 23rd – January 2nd, and I can’t wait!

This week’s Instpiration:

How cute is this McDonald’s in Portugal?! I am obsessed with it.

You guys. The VIB sale at Sephora starts TODAY! By the time you have read this though I will have already shopped my little heart out. That’s right, I’ll have stayed up until midnight adding items to my cart.

Dear Future Self,

Please order a triple shot latte in the morning.

Much Love,

Emily

Are you guys planning to shop the sale? VIB Rouge was last week and I am literally only $70 away from my Rouge status. Since starting this blog I’ve apparently racked up the moolah. Let me know what you guys are planning to get! I will most likely be planning to purchase something for a holiday giveaway on my blog as well (towards December). Also, I was thinking of actually doing a video of all the stuff I bought during the sale. Would you guys like that? I am terrible on camera, but I might have a go at it. I’ll still post a blog outlining all the items I purchased, but just maybe it will be accompanied by a video. πŸ˜‰

Next week I am really wanting to do a fall/winter ‘makeup menu’ on Coat + Coffee. I got the idea from Reflection of Sanity, and since I don’t post much about makeup anymore, I thought it would be nice to give a little update of my favorites. However I am much more in love with skin care, and thatΒ will always continue to be my main focus. Speaking of skin care, I am pretty much done with testing out my Honest Beauty stuff. A review willΒ come sometime this month for sure. Currently I am playing around with the new Kathleen Lights x Morphe Eyeshadow Palette. It’s gorgeous from first glance, but definitely has some mixed reviews.

I don’t really have any plans this weekend except to work on my blog and hang out around the house. I might (I said might) start my decorating early this year. To be honest I’ve always been one of those strict ‘no decorating until after Thanksgiving’ people, and now I kind of want to experience the other side. I think for a lot of people the holidays just go by so fast! Last year it felt like I had just gotten my decorations up, and then took them all down a day later. Maybe that’s a sign we really need to stop, slow down, and enjoy the holidays more. But this year I am throwing my rules out the window! Whatever makes you happy, right?

Do you have any fun weekend plans? And what’s your opinion on decorating early?! If you’re sitting here reading this like “eff the holidays,” then check out my top 5 Cheapest Holiday Destinations, and we’ll see you next year!

    1. I totally agree Tamara! I think people mostly have a problem with the matte shades. So you still get some decent ones for the price.

  1. Love this instagram selection you shared with us. I am also not too far from my Rouge status at Sephora, but I don’t let it pressure me. I only shop when I really need to add (or I’m dying to try) something new to my routine, or replenish my stock. As far as the holidays go, I usually have my decorations up around Thanksgiving (+/- a day or two) and take them down the first week of February after I’m done celebrating the Orthodox Christmas and Old Christmas. This gives me a good chunk of time to enjoy the spirit of the holidays and to wind down. Looking forward to seeing your “makeup menu”!

    1. Thanks Colette! Good for you to not give in to the pressure! Haha. Sephora can be sooo expensive and I probably spend way too much money there.

  3. Gorgeous Instpiration! Crazy how quickly the months fly by when you’re busy (I definitely know how you feel trying to balance a fulltime job with blogging and social life! Some days you just don’t really get a break.) Can’t wait to see the post on the makeup menu! I love Shireen’s blog as well πŸ™‚

  4. Loving your Insta-piration (did I get that right lol?) as per usual! I’m one of the people that allows myself to start decorating after Halloween. I’m from Canada so our Thanksgiving is done in October so November 1st seems like the perfect time for Holiday decor to go up. I usually go completely all out for Christmas which is one of the reasons why I like to decorate early. I want to enjoy my Christmas decor for as much time as possible because it’s such an effort to put it all up! Like you, I don’t want to spend the time and feel like I’m taking it all down again a day later! I’m also going away after the holidays (beginning of January) most likely to LA for a week. I can’t wait to have some time off! Vacations can never come fast enough!

    1. Yes I couldn’t agree more! I go all out too. I didn’t get a chance to decorate last weekend, but I am this weekend for sure! Christmas cannot come soon enough. For some reason I didn’t think you were in Canada! It must be super cold there right now. So jealous, I am sick of this heat haha. LA will be such a nice vacay and you’ll have great weather. πŸ™‚

  5. My husband and I are one of those strict no decorating until after Thanksgiving people. But this year I’m kind of on the same page as you. I feel like I didn’t even get to really enjoy it last year! So far I’ve already put out my festive kitchen towels and potholders. My husband has been sighing, but I’m not planning to stop lol.

    1. Right?! Yes I do actually! Try Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. It’s decently priced, works wonderfully, and you can get it at Sephora. πŸ™‚

  6. Oh, you should totally do a makeup menu post! πŸ™‚ I’d love to see that! Also, how cute is that little McDonald’s in Portugal? πŸ˜€ Definietly different from what we get over here! I’m going to Portugal next year so maybe I’ll check that out, haha… πŸ˜‰ Also, I don’t have much of an opinion on decorating early. Like you said – it’s just whatever makes you happy! I’m not too bothered about decorating in general, to be honest. My boyfriend is working a 12 hour shift on Christmas Day (yay…) and I’ll likely just be spending a day at my parents’, so I don’t see much point in going over the top with my own decorations. Always enjoy admiring how other people decorate their homes, though! πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing, lovely. xoxo <3

    1. The makeup menu post will be up tomorrow for sure! I am still so jealous you guys are going to Portugal! And I totally agree about the decorating, especially when you’re not going to be home. This year we are going to my parent’s house for Christmas, so I think that’s kind of why I want to decorate early, so I can enjoy it!

  7. YASSSSSS TO A VIDEO!!!! Haha! I just know you’ll kill it in the video, well not literally speaking because I’ll need to bail you out from the popo but ya know what I mean. πŸ˜‰ You definitely need to do a video of all your haul because girl, you had an arm long list!

And thank you so much for the shoutout and please do a post on it. Who cares if you’re more on skincare, I love reading aka being nosy about what skincare others are using. And you are only $70 away from VIB Rouge?! You big spender! LOL!

  8. Another great photo round up! That McDonalds shot is awesome… it almost makes it look like some cool, hipster cafe rather than a worldwide chain. Also, a million times yes to making a video. Seeing everyone’s makeup posts about the Sephora sale has me thinking I reallllly need to up my makeup/skincare routine. There are so many fun products people keep sharing!

    1. Thanks Kathryn! You definitely need to hit up the sale once! It really is such a good deal with everyone being 20% off, which we know never happens with high end brands. πŸ™‚

  9. Omg I never thought I’d say this but yes, that Maccas (Aussie term for McDonalds) is incredibly cute. How is this even possible hehehehe. I don’t know where the time goes, I can’t even that it’s bloody November. Actually we’re almost through with that too. What?! I’m having the week between Christmas and NYE off, aside from that I’ve got down that I’m capable to work. Hopefully there’ll be no work through, like last year. Then again the money would be great too.
