Summer time is for vacationing and getting to the nearest beach possible. For our summer retreat, my boyfriend and I chose Playa Del Carmen, Mexico and the breathtaking Blue Diamond Riviera Maya resort. The flights were many and a red eye at that, but as soon as we made it, we knew we made the right choice.

The afternoon we got in started not so well for me as I got pretty sick from lack of food/water on the back to back to back flights, and the crazy humidity. So we’ll just scrap that day from the books! I was about as fun as a 60 hour work week.

Our room was a junior patio suite and it was absolutely stunning and modern. Just how I like it!

I cannot say enough good thing about the design and interiors of this resort. It was absolutely my style and every day here was breathtaking. The grounds were so well kept and the rooms were spacious with the perfect all inclusive amenities. I made sure they stacked our fridge with M&Ms everyday because VACATION.

Hop on a bike or call for a golf cart to get around!

The front entrance (pictured above) is the largest palapa I have ever seen in my life. It brings a whole new meaning to ‘grand entrance’.

Whatever you do, make sure you eat all the food. I know we did!

…and drink all the coffee, naturally.

The food at Blue Diamond was not like your typical all inclusive resort buffet. The restaurants served different things every night and they were definitely not your average creations. The chefs here are amazing! I even enjoyed my morning coffees.

There were also lots of afternoon coffee breaks. Too lazy to ever move from my lounge chair!

The resort spans from the beach to the Mexican jungle. All of our days consisted of sunshine, drinks, and sand.

There were lots of places around the pool to lay around and lounge. My favorite being the cabanas. Or what my boyfriend referred to as the ‘old people zone’.

Every chair and cabana was of high quality, comfortable and clean, and a crisp white. It’s the little things! Plus all the Moet made for great photos.

Oh you fancy huh?

We checked out the dock a few times which was pretty unique. I didn’t see a lot of these at other resorts I was looking at so I was really excited about this aspect, and it definitely influenced my decision in choosing this place.

We even caught a storm coming in on our last day. My first thought? Let’s run over there and take photos (naturally). I mean, good thing I did because look at this guys…

After that it was more sunshine, sand, and drinks. #mexicostyle

We had such an amazing trip to Playa Del Carmen. There are so many resorts in Cancun and Playa, that it can be very overwhelming to make a choice. Blue Diamond Riviera Maya did not ever disappoint me once. The service and friendliness of the staff were five star worthy. My favorite part were the beautiful grounds, jungle, beaches, and pool area.

This all inclusive resort is also adults only as well. No offense to the kiddos, but sometimes you just need a little break! So be sure to book this with your hunny for your next getaway. Happy summer travels!

    1. I am the same actually! This was out of my comfort zone and I still prefer a large city or adventurous vacation. 🙂

Your room looks wonderful and the resort sounds so lovely, I’ll have to keep it in mind if we do end up going some day. Mexican food is so good, isn’t it!? I mean, how can you NOT finish it all AND lick your fingers and plate, too!? Haha! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, I’m glad you had a wonderful time!
