It’s been a total of two months since I last visited San Francisco. What can I say, I love this city and nothing keeps me away! Though my time in the city was short, I knew I had to finally make a point to visit Le Marais Bakery on this trip. And I am so incredibly happy that I did. So here are all the deets on what’s quite possibly the cutest little French cafe in America: Le Marais Bakery.
Le Marais Bakery is one of those places I immediately put on my list once I saw people posting about it on Instagram. The adorable French interior, marble table tops, and perfectly photographable light grey coffee cups stole my heart. But more on that later…
This bakery is quintessentially French. The outside is reminiscent of French cafe you’d stop at for a café au lait and croissant, paired with classic French cafe chairs. The menu is as French as they come, with goodies from their pâtisserie (pastries) and a boulangerie (bread). They also have a gorgeous breakfast menu that includes an enticing ‘breakfast board’ where you can sample multiple items.
A small coffee bar is also a part of what they’re serving up. And being in San Francisco, the coffee and latte art definitely did not disappoint! I had the most delicious latte and I couldn’t stop marveling at their gorgeous grey coffee cups.
The interior consists of light wood floors with white walls surrounding the space making it somewhat Scandinavian in nature. All the other little touches like the cute bistro chairs, marble table tops, and plateware added to the French flair. The space isn’t particularly large, but it’s super inviting.
The only drawback to this place? It can become quite the popular place on the weekend. On one hand, that’s good for people watching. On the other hand, you may have a bit of a wait. We waited about 15 minutes to get a table, which really isn’t that bad in San Francisco at 10:00 AM on a Saturday morning.
If you’re visiting San Francisco and looking for a super cute place to shoot some Instagram content, then this is it. But don’t expect to leave without a few pastries in your belly and a latte to go. Their menu is just as good as their gorgeous interior design. Overall, a great little slice of Paris in the heart of San Francisco.
Is Le Marais Bakery on your wishlist now?
