As most of you know, last month I had the wonderful pleasure of visiting Poland. The main purpose of the trip was ancestral, which I didn’t really talk about too much (not on purpose).

On Wednesday, April 13th, we headed to a small town Southeast of Kraków called Dobrzechów. We traced my Polish side all the way to a town of 1,600 people, and I made a short video along the way to document the day trip from Kraków.

I will definitely have a ‘Part 2’ that explains everything, as I think the video brings up even more questions because it’s not super informative. So be on the lookout for a part 2 if you are interested in genealogy! For now, enjoy a more visual side to my journey through Dobrzechów…

If you’d like to reach out to me with questions regarding genealogy or research, I can possibly point you in the right direction! If you are watching this and think you have any information on Dobrzechow, please also reach out, as it would still help me greatly! I am still ‘researching’. Email: coatandcoffee@gmail.com

  1. It was so neat to go along with you guys on this journey! Both my aunt on my dad’s side and my grandfather on my mom’s side were really interested in genealogy and traced our family histories back quite a ways and I always have found it SO fascinating to learn about my ancestors. I have found it makes me feel more in tune with who I am and where I come from. I’m excited for Part 2!

    1. Yes!! I feel the same way. It’s weird because even seeing photos you can find the resemblance of them in your own face. I think it’s important for people to know where they came from. I cannot wait to share it with my children someday! It definitely makes me feel more whole. 🙂
