Happy National Coffee Day everyone! As such, I thought I would do a quick recap of all the coffee shops I’ve written about this year for this glorious occasion. National Coffee Day only comes once a year, and it’s right up there with National Donut Day and National Pizza Day. So be sure to grab a latte, cappuccino, espresso, non-fat no whip pumpkin spice latte, whatever you drink, and check out these 14 beautiful coffee shops!

Peixoto Coffee – Chandler, AZ | HERE

Peixoto Coffee

The first coffee shop review I ever published on Coat + Coffee! I remember taking my laptop there to work on my blog in the beginning stages. Probably some of the best coffee in all of Arizona. The decor is super cozy and I could sit here all day on a cold winter day sipping coffee and blogging. This is also one of my most viewed editorials!

Essence Bakery Cafe – Phoenix, AZ | HERE

Essence Bakery

I remember grabbing breakfast and coffee here with my boyfriend one winter morning. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn’t too good. But I’ll admit it, I mostly came here for the food anyway! The food is some of the best and authentic French food in the state of Arizona. The decor is nice and modern with huge windows, and long bar tops for sitting. Really great atmosphere and a decent cup of coffee.

Street Coffee – Phoenix, AZ | HERE

Street Coffee

This place was fairly new when I first visited, and I was so excited to be one of the first to review it. Street Coffee has the nicest shop owners and awesome specialty coffee drinks. My favorites are their specialty lattes with sweetened condensed milk. Definitely a place for a cheat day! Loved the modern decor and old house conversion on this downtown coffee shop.

Matador Coffee – Flagstaff, AZ | HERE

Matador Coffee

There aren’t too many coffee shops to choose from in Northern Arizona, but this one is by far the best. The decor is super cute and they also have an array of speciality coffee drinks. Matador also roasts their own beans in the back of the shop. It was so great to come here after a day of snowboarding and get caffeinated for the drive home.

The Mill – San Francisco, CA | HERE

The Mill San Francisco

While I used to live in San Francisco, I was never in to blogging about any coffee shops. The Mill was one I knew I had to do a write up of on Coat + Coffee because I loved it so much! It’s still one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. If you are ever in San Francisco, definitely check this one out. Pssst, they also have gourmet toast.

Futuro – Phoenix, AZ | HERE

Futuro Coffee

I remember being so excited to try Futuro, and being obsessed with the decor. I still visit this coffee shop often and it has become my favorite in Arizona. They have some of the best coffee and these baristas really know their stuff. Futuro is the perfect unpretentious coffee shop that you can hang out at with your friends and laugh for hours. I always recommend this one to visitors! Always.

Ema Espresso Bar – Prague, Czech Republic | HERE

Ema Espresso Prague

In April I traveled to Prague and got to visit Ema Espresso Bar which I had heard so many good things about. This coffee shop was gorgeousss and gave me so much inspiration! Everyone here seemed to be up and ready for the day, and having lively conversations. Coffee was incredible and the sweets were delicious too, even if I have no idea what I ate.

I Need Coffee! – Prague, Czech Republic | HERE

I Need Coffee Prague

This was my second stop in Prague and it was just as good as Ema. I actually liked my cappuccino here even more, but it was a toss up because I liked the scene and decor at Ema more. Either way, I Need Coffee! (so perfectly named) was definitely one of the highlights on my way through Prague. The baristas were super nice and accommodating as well, even with our lack of Czech phrases.

Alfred Coffee (Melrose) – Los Angeles, CA | HERE

Alfred Coffee LA

This is mecca of coffee shops situated in LA. There’s no way I could have gone a whole year without writing about this place. The coffee was great and the decor was absolute Pinterest heaven. I cannot say enough good things about Alfred, and I think everyone should visit at least once! The best part is that they now have a tea room for all you tea drinkers out there!

The Teapot – Phoenix, AZ | HERE

The Teapot Phoenix

I wanted to visit this coffee shop for all my mommy friends out there. When I heard about a kid friendly coffee shop I was so intrigued! Do the kids drink coffee? In fact, they do. The Teapot has kid friendly drinks for the little ones and a huge space to play outside. I wasn’t too impressed with their coffee, but the concept is neat nonetheless.

La Capra Coffee – San Francisco, CA | HERE

La Capra Coffee

I found this place on a whim while I was in San Francisco. I am a Capricorn so naturally I fell in love with La Capra and the idea of a Capricorn themed coffee shop. I even bought a little latte set. This coffee shop was a nice break from the trendy ones, and it mostly servedย start up employees working in the SOMA area. The decor has been one of my favorites this year and reminds me of a French coffee shop.

Kream Coffee – Phoenix, AZ | HERE

Kream Coffee

Kream was one of my more recent visits and I had a lot of fun blogging about it. The lighting was great at their outside bar area, so I was able to grab lots of photos (always a plus). The barista was super nice and the coffee was pretty dang good too. What I love most is that it’s situated inside a little design shop with lots of nick knacks to peruse. Also, how can you not love a good ordering window?

Saint Frank Coffee – San Francisco, CA | HERE

Saint Frank Coffee

This coffee shop was on my list for so long! I kept missing it every time I visited SF because of time constraints, but it definitely has to be one of my new favorites in the city. I absolutely love the design of the space and the loft feel it has. The latte I ordered was a little underwhelming, but it wasn’t anything bad by any means. So that aside, I would still come here again and again, and again.

Teaspressa – Scottsdale, AZ | HERE

Teaspressa Ruze Cake House

Teaspressa just opened this location a month or so ago, and already it’s been booming with business and winning at Instagram. This is probably my favorite coffee shop (tea shop?) I’ve ever photographed. I wanted to do challenge myself and do a write up of a tea place for all my non-coffee drinkers! The owner was super friendly and the rose gold touches will leave you feeling all the detail feels for days.

Out of all of the beautiful coffee shops I’ve written about this year, which one has been your favorite? I am curious to know! For me it’s so hard to pick just one. Leave me a comment below!

    1. Really?! I lived in Berkeley for a year too! I also never would go in to the city haha. I mean I worked in the city every day, but on the weekends I stayed away. It always seemed like such a hassle. I kind of regret it now!

    1. I totally know what you mean! I grew up somewhere where there were only Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. Nowadays I would definitely hate to have so few options! Maybe I’ll open a coffee shop in your neighborhood. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. The Ema Espresso Bar looks so inviting! I always love trying new coffee shops, each place has its own vibe but feels familiar at the same time. (If that makes any sense haha). Have a nice weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It was Eden! Actually, it was probably one of the most inviting I’ve ever been in. It was so great! And yes that totally makes sense. For me coffee is all about the experience and I love that every shop has it’s own vibe, but feels so comfortable and homey. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I remember your post about La Capra! Nice interior indeed! I didn’t know that the National Coffee Day is legit. When a coffee maker brand organized an event here in the Philippines for that, my fiance and I thought it was just a “marketing stunt.”

I LOVE COFFEE! And I miss Vietnam mostly for the coffee. I love how their roasting process and I love the beans I took home with me… Although it’s almost gone… Sad. Awhile ago I just tried out a coffee shop near my fiance’s place. You have the option to choose which beans to use and the process. I went for the Costa Rican beans and asked them use chemex. One of the best coffee shops I’ve tried here in the Philippines. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Haha I feel like there is a national day for everything!! Definitely a national coffee day. That’s funny you thought it was marketing stunt. Though now a days coffee companies definitely take advantage of the day. It’ve never had Vietnamese coffee. What does it taste like? I definitely need to sample more coffee from East Asia! I would die to take a trip there. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I am one of those boring people that don’t like Coffee! I really, REALLY wish I did as there are so many more fun options compared to tea! And seriously, look at those gorgeous coffee shops, who wouldn’t want to lounge around in one of those? Can’t do that with tea!

  6. Wow, that’s quite a lot of awesome looking coffee shops! The only coffee shop I’ve ever been to is… Starbucks… Maybe Costa… Haha! We don’t get lovely coffee shops like these anywhere near where I live. Although now that Starbucks has re-introduced their Pumpkin Spice for the season, I guess that’s all you need, haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰ x Loving the look of that Ema Espresso Bar, so fancy! <3

  7. I love that you find all these incredible cafes! I used to do all my extra work sitting at coffee shops. I was always in a hurry, so I sat at the Starbucks just at the corner of my condo complex, but I loved going out and looking for new spots. Alfred’s Coffee in LA is a great spot. It has wifi, outlets and some seating. Might have to go this week. lol Thanks for sharing these awesome spots!
